Archery Swap
What’s an archery swap? If you are into this sport this type of gathering may pique your interest. If you find the right one, you can get lots of expensive equipment at half the price.
Many years ago, archery swaps (along with other swaps) used to be relatively common. Within most small towns, people that shared the same interests would get together in order to trade their goods. Almost like a yard sale that is based upon the barter system, this type of gathering includes people that want to get rid of all kinds of items. Of course, you will have to trade something of worth to them in return.
In order to find this type of meeting near you, you might have to do a bit of investigating. While a lot of Southern hunting shops still keep the swamp mentality in mind, they are far less common in the North. If you happen to be an archer with a lot of equipment that you want to get rid of, you can always organize this type of event on your own. Chances are that you will find lots of other archers in your area to trade with.
Sometimes, archery swaps are highly organized events consisting of food stands, entertainment, and lots of great items. Other times, they are simple, casual, affairs that are relatively calm. If you want to bring in money for an archery club or other organization, this type of event may be the perfect thing for you. Simply charge an admission fee, sell lots of goodies, and allow vendors to trade freely. Realistically, this type of event is not hard to organize at all. If you don’t want to put the time and effort into organizing one, you can always attend one that you find on the internet... some of them are even internet based.
Now that you know what this sort of gathering is all about, you can decide whether you want to hunt one down or create your own. Either way, this is a fine way to meet other archers in your area. Also, you will discover that a lot of people have equipment they are trying to get rid of.
In every manner, an archery swap is a great idea for the archer enthusiast. Rather than buying all of that equipment new, why not give a good old fashioned trade a try?
