Archery Trophies

There are numerous archery trophies that can be won by those that are truly skilled archers. Depending upon the tournament that you enter, the award will differ.

In order to begin discussing archery trophies, we must first touch upon those competitions that are considered some of the toughest within this sport. Most modern types of this sport fall under the category of “field archery.” The field type consists of targets that have been set up in a forest setting. Archers must be able to shoot targets from a long distance in order to bring home an award. Almost all major competitions are set up by the International Archery Federation (FITA).

No matter what the competition may be all archers will only have a specific amount of time to shoot at the target. Once that time is up, the archer is done for the length of the tournament. Since one person will not know what their competitor has shot until the tournament is over with, this sport is highly stressful. Once an archer is done shooting, they may not go back to re-do any type of shot. In many ways, if an archer is having an off day, they will not have any chance at redemption. Unlike other sports, top archers often walk away with an award that ranks them at the top of their game.

While archery trophies may be nice to look at, most archers want to gain a high ranking. Since all competitive archers are ranked, it is far more rewarding to one competitor to be higher than all the rest than to receive a shiny award. This is why many competitions do not offer up any type of reward at all, they simply allow the winner the glory of being the best. If you are serious about this sport, you will find that it takes a lot of skill to beat all those that are ranked the top in the world. In fact, many competitors travel the world entering numerous competitions just to be the best.

If you want your name to be known all over the globe, simply sign up for a competition in Europe (or elsewhere). This way, those that enjoy the sport in other parts of the world will include you within their ranking system.

In many ways, this sport is all about being at the top of your game all the time. If you are in it for those archery trophies, you may be in the wrong sport completely.
