Brass Inserts for Archery

Brass inserts for archery are necessary when you want to weigh down those light arrows. Used in game hunting and in competition, these weights are really useful.

The brass inserts for archery themselves are nothing more than hollow cylinders that can be inserted into an arrow in order to make it heavier. The heavier the arrow is, the easier that far away target will become, which is why many hunters order these parts. If you are considering using them during an upcoming competition, make sure that you read the rules of the competition thoroughly before weighing down you arrows – some competitions do not allow weights inside of the arrows.

While these arrow additions are usually used for aluminum and carbon materials, they can also be used inside of hollow wooden ones. Still, aluminum and carbon arrows are the best out there, though a slight tweak in weight will make them even better. Even though these weights have been around for many years not, recent technology has made them even better. If you are going to purchase these weights, make sure that you buy the update versions, since the older ones can actually add too much weight to your arrows. While many people use these weights all of the time, you may want to consider the weather and wine prior to usage.

You can find lots of brass inserts for archery online. Also, you can easily search for them at your local hunting store (most hunting stores can order them if they are not in stock). While they certainly aren’t necessary, your shots will be a lot more accurate with a weight inside of that arrow. You should also be aware that these weights tend to come in numerous sizes, so try and figure out what size you will need prior to ordering any. If you aren’t sure, purchase a few different weights to try them out (check for the store’s return policy just in case).

For the most part, you can buy a box of twelve weights for around $12, which is a relatively good deal. Since the brass ones are a bit more expensive, you may want to consider some other materials...though brass is usually the best.

The next time your arrow gets taken by the wind, consider purchasing some brass inserts for archery. Just remember to check with the rules before you decide to use them in competition.
