Famous Archers
Need some inspiration? There are quite a lot of famous archers out there that have gained a bit of recognition over the years.
You may not think that you can name lots of famous archers, but when you take a look at the list below you will be surprised at all the names that you know. Throughout time from fiction to reality, there have been many archers that have impressed the world. When the world was first being formed, archers were discovered in the shape of constellations, and when those great Greek and Roman empires rose up out of nothingness, archers led the way.
One of the first archers to ever gain lots of recognition was the god Apollo. Apollo was responsible for the arrow that took down Achilles – no small feat. Another great Greek to make the archery scene was Artemis. Artemis was a multi talented goddess that had the ability to jump very high, and shoot her arrow with an accuracy that many people today only dream about. Back on earth, Oscar winner Geena Davis is an avid archer – did you know that? In fact, it is reported that Davis cannot shoot anything without bringing her bow and arrow with her on set.
Of course, when it comes to famous actors that have something to do with archery, who can forget the ever-angry face of Rambo? Rambo originally carried a bow and arrow with him everywhere that he went...he even had a bow named after him. Then again, long before Rambo ever made the movie scene there was Robin Hood. Robin Hood is the epitome of the archer legend, which is why he deserves some recognition on this list of famous archers. If we had been alive during those medieval times, we would probably be able to name quite a few heroic archers that led many great civilizations into battle...though all of their names have sadly disappeared.
As you can see, there are plenty of bow and arrow wielding people in this world. If you are half as good as any of them, you may be placed within this list one day.
From the great Greek gods to those that represent archery on the Silver Screen, this sport is not quite finished yet. There will be many more great archers to come – will you be one of them?
